Multi-Family denotes residential structures containing multiple dwelling units with common areas and facilities.

| Duplex/Fourplex | Apartment rental property containing two or four units. |
| Low Rise/Garden | An apartment development of two- or three-story, walk-up structures built in a garden-like setting; customarily a suburban or rural-urban fringe development. |
| Government Subsidized | An apartment development with all or a portion of the units set at below market rents according to government guidelines and set aside for low and moderate income families. |
| Mid-Rise | An apartment building with four to ten stories, typically elevator-served. |
| High-Rise | An apartment building with ten or more stories, typically elevator-served. |
| Mixed Use | A multi-family property containing a combination of uses where multi-family is the dominant component. |
