The Opportunity Zones legislation provides significant tax incentives to investors who invest capital gains in distressed, low-income communities. After a year and a half into its enactment, the time has come for this economic development tool to focus on steering private capital into the 144 qualified Opportunity Zones, 19 of which are located in Metro Louisville.
On Wednesday, August 7, 2019, the first Louisville/Kentucky Opportunity Zones Showcase will bring together prospective opportunity zone investors, fund managers, project sponsors, government and community development agencies, and philanthropic leaders, as interested stakeholders, with the sole purpose of connecting capital, qualified projects, and investors. The event will consist of eight 15 minutes presentations, by selected Qualified Opportunity Funds’ managers and Sponsors of Qualified Opportunity Zones projects.
